Hammond to Break Ground on Oxbow Landing Building

HAMMOND - Officials in Hammond will Tuesday break ground on the final portion of the Oxbow Landing Development. Mayor Tom McDermott says the final project is a 14,000-square-foot Class-A office building that is the "perfect example of high-quality progress that so many communities seek."

Housing is booming in Porter County

Porter County, with its close proximity to Lake Michigan and public transportation for quick access to Chicago, is seeing a boom in real estate developments.

According to statistics released by GNIAR, Porter County’s year-to-date growth from Jan. 1, 2016 – Feb. 29, 2016 to Jan. 1, 2017 – Feb. 28, 2017, showed an increase in the number of units sold of 3.7 percent and an increase in the median selling price of units sold of 5.9 percent.

Another office building may be coming to Oxbow

HAMMOND — A second high-end office building may be coming to the city's Oxbow Landing development.

The Hammond Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday is expected to enter into an option agreement with ATG Real Estate Development LLC for the last parcel of land the commission has available at the development.

New Class A office building off Borman in Hammond starts to fill

HAMMOND — The first Class A office building to be built along the Borman Expressway has landed its first four tenants, marking another milestone in fulfilling expectations for Oxbow Landing.

Construction work began last year on the 37,200-square-foot, three-story 2929 Carlson Drive building and ATG Real Estate Development is already planning to build at a second site at Oxbow Landing.

New office complex coming to Hammond

HAMMOND | A new multimillion dollar office building is expected to be constructed in Hammond's Gateways Redevelopment area at the same time as the city looks to expand the boundaries of an economic incentive zone.

The Hammond Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday approved a development agreement with ATG Real Estate Development LLC, of Hobart, which is proposing an approximately $5.5 million development project on a 3.5-acre site at Oxbow Landing near Interstate 80/94 and Kennedy Avenue.

Motel complex planned for vacant Shaver dealership

HIGHLAND | A six building motel complex will be built on the long-vacant property that once housed the Terry Shaver Pontiac dealership.

The land at 2121 45th St., at the northwest corner of Prairie Avenue and 45th Street, was recently purchased by Prairie Square LLC.

The Shaver building, which has been empty for the past 10 years, already has been razed.

"The motel is expected to open in the late summer or fall of 2014," Prairie Square Principal Eric Gastevich said Friday afternoon through his attorney, Brent Torrenga.
